Getting started
Participation begins with human approval and a recipient-specific invitation. A public expression of interest does not confer membership, Microsoft access, a vote or standards authority.
From interest to participation
- Register through the public form or be nominated through an approved roster.
- OPDA reviews the person, organisation, intended group and appropriate sign-in identity.
- For an implemented workspace, OPDA provisions the guest identity and Team membership.
- Eligible company-domain participants receive access to their organisation's private source-intake folder.
- OPDA sends a recipient-specific invitation only after it has checked the access state.
The live Team roster is the participant authority for an implemented workspace. SharePoint permissions are derived from it; a folder or website page is not a separate membership register.
Use the account that was invited
- Open the invitation intended for you and sign in with the email account that received it.
- Do not forward or reuse the recipient-specific access link.
- If the identity is wrong, stop and ask OPDA to correct it instead of creating a competing account.
- Follow your organisation's security and device policies; do not bypass its controls.
Teams and SharePoint access differ
| Account situation | Teams discussion | SharePoint evidence intake |
|---|---|---|
| Approved company-domain account | May be invited to the private Microsoft Team. | May receive the matching private organisation folder. |
| Approved generic-provider account | May be invited to discuss and review. | No provider-wide company folder is created. |
| Expression of interest only | No access until human review and invitation. | No access. |
A generic-provider account can participate in Teams but cannot define a safe organisation-wide SharePoint boundary. Arrange an approved company contributor if your organisation needs upload access.
First-day checklist
- Read General or Announcements for orientation and official notices.
- Review the channel directory and choose the most specific channel for a subject.
- Read the working group's scope, Evidence, Questions and Review pages on this site.
- Check existing threads before starting a new discussion.
- If contributing evidence, read the source-material rules before uploading anything.
What members own
Domain and scheme participants contribute evidence, explain language and rules, challenge examples and judge whether a candidate represents their work. Modelling facilitators make that meaning explicit and machine-readable. The Interoperability Working Group handles shared boundaries and mappings. The separate Technology Working Group supplies implementation and technical-assurance evidence; Property Technology remains one of the six property bounded contexts.
Access and administration support
For an additional colleague, an identity correction or a private access problem, email smartdata@openpropdata.org.uk with the relevant group, names, email addresses and organisations. Email is an administration route, not a parallel group discussion list.
