Accessibility statement
We want the OPDA public website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA.
What this statement covers
This statement covers the public working-group service and its privacy notice, the newsletter subscription service and its privacy notice, and this accessibility page. It does not cover every page in the OPDA Knowledge Base.
WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the standard we are working towards. We do not claim that every covered page currently meets it, and these pages have not been independently certified as conformant.
Using the service
We design the covered pages so people can:
- navigate and complete the registration form with a keyboard;
- zoom and reflow content without losing information or controls;
- use text alternatives and semantic HTML when visual diagrams are present;
- read content with sufficient colour contrast and without relying on colour alone; and
- disable non-essential motion through their device preferences.
How we assess accessibility
Our release checks cover code-level accessibility assertions, keyboard use, colour contrast, reduced motion, forced colours, and reflow at 320 CSS pixels and 400% zoom. Automated checks find only some accessibility problems and do not prove full WCAG conformance.
We have not yet completed a full manual or independent accessibility audit of these pages. Additional issues may exist. We will update this statement with the tested build, routes, browsers, assistive technologies, tools and findings when that audit is complete.
Known limitations
The working-group registration and newsletter subscription journeys have not yet had a full manual audit with assistive technology. Their content and controls use ordinary semantic HTML and do not depend on motion or an interactive visual, but further issues may still be found.
Because the broader Knowledge Base is outside the current testing scope, this statement does not make a conformance claim for generated ontology documentation, diagrams or historic material elsewhere on the site.
Alternative formats and support
If you need information from these pages in another format, or need help using the working-group registration or newsletter subscription service, email smartdata@openpropdata.org.uk. Tell us which page or information you need and the format or support that would help.
Do not include confidential, customer, property-transaction or special-category information in your email.
Report a problem
To report a problem, email smartdata@openpropdata.org.uk and tell us which page you were on, what you were trying to do and what went wrong. If you are comfortable doing so, also tell us your browser, device and any assistive technology you use.
